This project is based on the work by the Eastern Interconnection Planning Collaborative (EIPC), which has built three major power flow scenarios for the future Eastern Grid in year 2030. Our effort is to build the dynamic counterparts of the static models to evaluate the dynamic performance, controls, and protections of the futuristic grid, which features high renewable penetration. Some topics we are looking at are: inertia response, primary frequency response, and inter-area oscillation.
