Server Design

The new generation FNET/GridEye Server system is a real-time data server system designed to store synchrophasor data and implement real-time applications. It utilizes openPDC (developed by the Grid Protection Alliance) as the data concentrator, and stores phasor data in openHistorian 2.0 database for compressed storage and fast data extraction. The phasor data flow is monitored by real-time triggers, including event detection, oscillation detection, line trip detection, system breakup or islanding detection etc. Once a disturbance is detected, the data is dumped through a shell interface for further analysis. Email alerts and web reports are integrated with the reporting system.
